Children’s Vision Day – September 2, 2026
Did you know that only 16% of Manitoba children had an eye exam in 2025?
We created this event to raise awareness in our communities and encourage vision care. For this inaugural event we have encouraged all optometry offices to participate by planning a fun day with kid friendly activities. Of course, we also welcome Manitoba opticians to join in the fun!
Participating clinics are encouraged to transform their clinic environment and celebrate children’s vision care.
Suggestions are:
🎈 Decorating with balloons and colourful displays
🦸 Dressing as superheroes, storybook characters, or wearing themed attire
🍭 Providing small giveaways such as stickers, colouring books, pencils, or popsicles
📚 Creating a children’s activity or colouring station
📸 Setting up a photo area for families
🎨 Hosting a colouring contest
The goal is simple: promoting healthy vision and lifelong eye care habits.

2.5hr shifts:
8:45am – 11:30am
11:30am – 2:00pm
2:00 pm – 4:30pm/end
